The DDUGKY students of Dindigul centre had a special eye camp organised under the banner of Vaigai Eyecare opticals yesterday. The optometrist Ms Valarmathi along with counselling by Ms Muthulakshmi assisted the chief Doctor, Dr.N.Jeyachitharathan to benefit 35 students. It’s heartening to know the activities of DDUGKY project along with their training to give an overall benefit of the course to the students.
This is light at the end of the tunnel indeed !! With every wave of uncertainty looming large, it’s a piece of heartening news to know that Flyer Placement Services arranged for a placement awareness program for students who were trained under the NULM project of Kalvi in Tirunelveli and Tenkasi. It was a lively session with student trainees eager to learn more about placement protocols and jobs. What a wonderful way to wrap up in 2020. And a few glimpses of the session are here. We have Inaugurated our First Batch on the Skill Training Project with Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar Housing and Development Corporation(TAHDCO), Government of Tamil Nadu. We feel proud to share that this is our first association with TAHDCO and the inauguration of the Training Program was conducted on Kalvi Trust, KK Nagar, Madurai. Mr.Chandrasekar, District Manager, TAHDCO, Madurai was the Chief Guest of the event and he was very much appreciated our efforts initiating the project.

We are happy to share that World blood donor day was observed on 14th June 2019 through Kalvi trust. On this event, our staff members were motivatedvon the importance of blood donation. A few of our Kalvi staff members kind heartedly donated blood to the poor needy patients. This was possible only with the help and support of Madurai voluntary blood bank and research center. The donors were appreciated for the noble cause on the occasion. And we are glad to share some snap shots of this event.
On 9th July 2019, Kalvi trust launched the No D scheme by Dr. S. Zufire Hassan DDTB of Madurai District at sholavandan GH. MS. Geetha Angeline Trupa who got the sponsored from Canada presided the function. 25 poor TB patients benefited from this scheme today. It will continue until patients end of the treatment day. The Celebration of International Women’s Day for KALVI Trust on March 08 of 2019 at the DDUGKY – Livecore campus Annanagar, was vibrant and colorful with Students and Faculty brimming with joy as the Guest of Honor Mr. Andrew, Vijay T.V Anchor reverberated the importance of women and their role in the Family, Society and Nation at large. The entire group was Happy sharing their opinions on women’s role in establishing a Better and Balanced Society. The Speech given by Dr. Hannah Paul motivated one and all to be the change in the first place to establish a better world with an equal balance of the two genders. The clarion call to be the change is the ground rule for establishing a beautiful balance in creating balance in creating a better society. The Celebration moments culminated with the National Anthem and a few clicks on the camera with Mr. Andrew. Mr.Deivendran, Deputy Director of Magalir Thittam, Virudhunagar District and Mr.Paul Raj, Assistant Project Officer of Magalir Thittam Participated as Guests in the valuable event. During the event Chief guests distributed Study Materials like Bag, Notebooks, Pen etc to the 20 Marginalized women to support them for their livelihood option.
TOEIC Bridge free Course started at Kalvi KK Nagar Office on 06.01.2018. 30 Students from Karumbalai Slum area were attended the training and learn English. The trainer Ms.Freeda Sasibala taken the 1st day class to the students and interact with them. Children are enjoyed the program.

Madurai SEED Plan, Karumbalai Celebrated their Annual Day program at SPK Hotel, KK Nagar, Madurai. Our Managing Trustee Mr.Senthil Kumar has participated one of the Chief Guest in the program and gave a valuable speech to motivated Slum children to become a leader in the society and also provide information to all parents should be a role model for their children at SPK Hotel with combine guests like Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.Aneesh Sekar I.A.S., and District Legal Services Authority Sub Judge Mr.Panneer Selvam.
Government free Skill training awareness program to SHG leaders of Sholavandan Block by KALVI Trust. 8 Leaders from various villages and 20 more Self Help Group members were aware about free government schemes of PMKVY, NULM etc., During the meeting the participants explore the interest to share the information to their village peoples and avail the benefits from KALVI Trust Sholavandan office.
Kalvi Trust, Madurai has formally inaugurated its free training program of TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication from ETS, U.S.A. TOEIC – an international certification training program of English will be offered to 30 slum children including kids and youths of Police Boys & Girls Club of Karumbalai Madurai. The formal inaugural function is attended by Mr.Siva Ramakrishnan, the Sub inspector of Police, Anna Nagar who is invited as the special Guest. The CEO of Kalvi Trust, Mr. Senthil Kumar, Mrs. Lilly – General Manager of VOICE Division of Kalvi Group, Mr. Vicky – Director of Police Boys & Girls Club were also present in the function today. After lighting Kuthu Vilaku in the inaugural function, Mr.Siva Ramakrishnan, the Sub inspector of Police mentioned that many police clubs are functioning in Madurai. However the police boys and Girls club, Karumbalai is contributing many social welfare activities notably. Through these initiatives children are being empowered in both Education and Skills based talents like co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. He also indicated that the children of Karumbalai are poor in English fluency and need improvement. It is a timely help of Kalvi Trust to offer an International Certificate Based English Training to them now and it would be a great plus for their future. Mr.Sivarama Krishnan further appreciated Kalvi Trust and suggested to extend the same training program to the other police clubs in Madurai. When the Managing Trustee of Kalvi Trust Mr.Senthil Kumar addresses the gathering, he mentioned that the objective of Kalvi Trust is basically to educate and empower the poor children by providing world class education. He further pointed out Kalvi Trust has extended its service to slum children and socially backward community from its early inception. In Cholavandan, more than 70 children are being taken care by Kalvi Trust including their tuition fees.He further added that after he heard about the karumbalai children, he immediately decided to support them by offering Rs.10, 000/- worth free International English training program and also assured that kalvi trust would continue to monitor them for future necessary support. He thanked the Assistant Commissioner for his presence and promised to extend the service by offering certified government training programs along with a guaranteed job to many youths in future too. Mrs. Lilly GM of VOICE division expressed her gratification by being a part of this initiative by the police club Karumbali and she assured of a great transformation of the students after this TOEIC training program. The inaugural function also attended by Ms.Saranya, Ms.Sasikala from Kalvi Group, Mr. Vicky – Director of Police Club, Madurai. Finally Mr. Joshua proposed vote of thanks.
Free Dental camp for marginalized women and their Children of Karumbalai area with support of PAVERA dental clinic and District Legal Services Authority, Madurai. Over 175 Marginalized women and their children were benefited by the camp. KALVI Trust gave Free tooth paste to all the Participants.
